- At one monitored river section, Thuần consistently observes fireflies at night, commonly on bần trees.
- The 28 August 2026 record documents an exceptional evening at that site.
What we don’t know
- The species at the monitored site.
- Whether observations from that site represent Ben Tre as a whole.
- A validated population trend or province-wide distribution map.
Are fireflies unique to Coco Happy Farm?
No. Fireflies are not owned by or unique to any farm or operator. Independent Vietnamese reporting documents firefly viewing at Vàm Hồ on the Ba Lai River, and a Ben Tre provincial newspaper includes river firefly viewing among local night activities. These sources establish occurrence beyond the Lương Hòa observation site; they are not ecological studies and do not identify species.

Where are they observed?
Local reports commonly concern darker, vegetated riverbanks. A precise pin for the monitored stretch is withheld to avoid directing concentrated traffic to a small and potentially shifting display area.
Are they present year-round?
Year-round presence is reported at the monitored site. It has not yet been tested through a complete standardized local dataset. There is currently no scientifically validated “peak season” for Ben Tre.
